OnePlus devices will soon receive the always-on display feature with an upcoming software update. Company officials have recently hinted at the same.
OnePlus recently launched its much-awaited mid-range OnePlus Nord smartphone on the market and is currently in the process of selling it via pop-up events, flash sales, and what not. The OnePlus Nord and several other OnePlus devices have had the glory of flaunting an AMOLED panel, but have so far missed out on one crucial feature of AMOLED displays – the ability to provide important information on the lockscreen using an always-on display. This, however, might change soon, as the company has started hinting about the arrival of the always-on display feature on the OnePlus devices.
OnePlus devices might soon be able to flaunt an always-on display
Pete Leu, OnePlus CEO, recently tweeted about the aforementioned feature in a rather cryptic style. The tweet hints at two different announcements (both good) for OnePlus fans – 1. Android 11 will soon be making its way to the OnePlus devices and 2. the OnePlus devices will soon be getting an always-on display feature. Below is the tweet for your reference.
Always-on display, or AOD as we know it, could very well make its debut on OnePlus devices with the upcoming OnePlus 8T smartphone series. The OnePlus 8T series is said to be launching later this year and we can expect it to be a pioneer for AOD.
For now, this is pretty much all the intel that we have surrounding the always-on display feature and Android 11 for the OnePlus devices, What are your thoughts on AOD for OnePlus devices? Do you miss the feature on your OnePlus device? Do let us know in the comments section below.
